Genuent is searching for exceptional Data Engineers to join our clients' growing team of analytics experts. You will be responsible for expanding and optimizing data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our clients' software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company's data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.
 
The goal of this team is continuing building a dynamic data platform that offers the most comprehensive view of consumer and population health ever available.
 
Responsibilities
• Work as part of an end-to-end feature squad
• Build robust production grade ETL pipelines and data models
• Support insights, data science and machine learning squads
• Share your experience of data access practices and design patterns
• Ensure coding standards are in place
 
Requirements
• We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a BA and preferable a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems
• Substantial experience in developing robust, scalable and production grade data pipelines and models
• You've worked with BigQuery, Hadoop and other SQL and NoSQL databases and are eager to learn even more
• You know Kafka 
• You have strong functional coding skills in one flavor of Python or another
• You know Docker intimately and have used it for deployments in a micro-service architecture
• You like asking questions
• You can write unit, integration and behavioral tests
