Overview
The Systems Administrator will design, install, administer, and optimize company servers to achieve high performance of the various business applications. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for management of the server environment. The Systems Administrator will further exhibit proficiency in administering Cloud services for Microsoft Azure and Office 365. In addition, we are seeking an individual who possesses expertise in administering mail for Microsoft Exchange 2013 and O365 in a hybrid environment. Finding a solid candidate with mail administration expertise within a medium to large corporate environment is our top priority.  
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft systems, including Windows Server 2016, Exchange 2013, Skype for Business, Teams, File Services, WSUS, Active Directory, ADFS, SharePoint, Azure Information Protection, MFA and SSO
  • Configure and maintain 3rd party systems, including Citrix Virtual App, Citrix Virtual Desktop, Citrix NetScaler, Knowbe4, VMWare, Proofpoint, SolarWinds, OKTA, Shavlik and Veeam
  • Perform patching, upgrades, backups, restores and all maintenance activities related to Windows Server
  • Monitor and maintain all aspects of mail-flow as it relates to a hybrid environment
  • Monitor and make changes to Proofpoint mail gateway settings based upon SPAM usage patterns
  • Perform eDiscovery searches and create new Litigation Holds via Proofpoint for internal Legal department
  • Create and execute detailed project plans using either MS Project or Smartsheet
  • Perform server migrations and upgrades in coordination with application owners
  • Lead and coordinate process improvements for the client/server environment
  • Design server systems, applications, and hardware; conduct capacity planning as needed
  • Collaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers
  • Configure and manage file systems; perform data migrations and enforce NTFS security
  • Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches
  • Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports
  • Run AD and Azure powershell scripts as required
  • Implement policies, procedures, and technology to ensure server security
  • Research server and storage hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Develop and maintain training materials and server documentation
  • Be familiar with cyber security concepts and evangelize security awareness training
  • Help to mentor and provide technical expertise to Service Desk as needed
 
Key Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of experience maintaining and supporting a Microsoft environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects; ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows systems
  • Experience supporting virtualization and hybrid cloud technologies
  • Solid understanding of network topologies and network security
  • Solid understanding of front-end, back-end and middle tier application topologies
  • Proven problem solving, organization and communication skills are essential
  • Professional certifications: MCSE Messaging, VMWare VCP and Security certifications preferred
  • ITIL Certification and commitment to IT Service Management Model is a plus
