Job Description:
Our client is seeking an IT Quality Assurance Analyst to work with business and technology stakeholders to ensure the delivery of solutions that meet their business quality needs. This position will review and understand all documented business requirements and solution designs to create test cases and test scripts to validate the functionality that they will use to deliver a high-quality solution.

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for creating end-to-end test plans; executing the test plans and leading all activities in the test plan to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected. The solution should be tested in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with other legacy and / or external systems.

To be successful, this Quality Assurance Analyst will need to obtain a thorough understanding of the business processes and functionality of the client's business applications, including website and associated backend applications. This position must be able to facilitate System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the business and technology partners.

Qualified candidates will possess 6+ years of equivalent experience and have a strong understanding of the Quality Assurance role and associated methodologies. He/she will also have the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast paced environment. This is an opportunity in an organization transitioning from start-up to mature. 

Essential Functions:
• Lead the planning and execution of SIT and UAT with technology and business partners
• Elicit and document test plans and test scripts for functional and non-functional requirements
• Define test data requirements
• Facilitate conversations with application developers and ensure understanding of technical requirements so they can be translated into testing scenarios
• Communicate defects to developers and other business stakeholders
• Provide reporting on testing executions results to management, business and technology stakeholders
• Provide traceability from solution requirements and designs to the testing scenarios and testing results
• Liaison with IT development, project management, and business stakeholders
• Utilize and understand QA methodologies and tools
• Contribute to improving and maturing the QA practice
• Prepare and present QA information to project team members
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across the company
• Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement
• Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS or related field and 7 years of experience as a quality assurance analyst or a related field OR 9 years of comparable experience without a degree
• Minimum of 6 years of Quality Assurance Analyst experience
• Ability to lead and execute testing execution
• Ability to create test plans that include functional and non-functional requirements
• Able to write Tests Scenarios and Test Cases
• Able to provide requirements of the testing data needed to execute the test plan
• Experience in providing detail testing execution result reporting
• Ability to document and troubleshoot defects
• Proficient in SQL, SOAP UI, Azure DevOps, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio
• Experience with Flow Charting
• Experience in testing with various SDLC methodologies, including waterfall, RAD and Agile
• Must be able to manage time, work under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively across several IT and business functions
• Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables – ensures the ability to find defects quickly
• Ability to think abstract – to ensure ability to not conform to the norm – norms do not find defects quickly
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated success in working within a matrix organization

Preferred Skills:
• Working knowledge of Automation testing solutions
• Experience in the energy retail industry
