Role:
The Systems Engineer II position is a critical position that is primarily responsible for the datacenter operations and business continuity.

Responsibilities: 
  • Server administration including VMWare and Hyper-V host setup, maintenance, monitoring and tuning systems for optimum performance
  • Administration of servers, network, and telephony systems (Fuze) to ensure availability of network resources/services to authorized use
  • Maintain software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance
  • Assist network engineers in monitoring network switches and routers, data analysis and recommend solutions on network connectivity issues
  • Creates and maintains documentation, including runbooks, ensuring accurate reflection of current state of APM infrastructure and environment
  • Assisting engineers with O365, OKTA Single Sign-on (SSO) and Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Install, configure and maintain storage hardware backup inclusive of physical plus virtual tape libraries or drives along with disk storage targets
  • Perform activities related to install, configure and mange SAN devices and fiber switches
  • Manage Commvault snapshots as well as recovery methods for storage volumes
  • Ensure production and development systems are being backed up successfully daily as well as per established schedule
  • Supervise volume replication overnight jobs and execute improvements
  • Execute site replication of significant DR data
  • Conduct storage analysis, capacity planning and performance planning of storage components
  • Coordination with network and business application administrators, desktop support, project management and database administrators to ensure reliability, availability and stability of server farm and network resources
  • Perform firmware and hardware upgrades across multiple environments when necessary
  • Researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies
  • Monitor the ConnectWise boards for incoming requests including assigning and escalating accordingly
  • Respond to new requests and resolve technical issues encompassing hardware, software and networking within established SLA by providing remote and onsite support to provide technical assistance and support to ensure service availability
  • Track all work in ticketing system ensuring all assigned tickets have accurate and up-to-date accounts of all troubleshooting steps and follow-up details.
  • Strict adherence to the use of our ticketing system for ALL incidents, changes, problems, and communication with end users and stakeholders
  • Work with vendor and client support organizations to troubleshooting diagnose and resolve issues related to server, backup, storage as well as LAN/WAN connectivity issues when necessary 
  • Identify automation opportunities and implement scripted solutions; writing and/or modifying shell scripts as needed for automation
  • Participate in project associated to the enhancement, upgrade/patching or implementation for new or existing technology solutions
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding assigned projects
  • Identify technical innovation and process improvement opportunities
  • Perform technical mentoring and cross training with other team members
  • Respond to datacenter outages during and after hours as directed by management
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Key Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Systems Engineer
  • Practical Knowledge of Windows Servers, MS Office 365, VMware, Nimble, Equallogic, Cisco technologies, Barracuda, Commvault, SharePoint, Fuze UCaaS
  • Ability to travel to branch locations as required to organize, coordinate or assist with repairs, remote branch site light-ups and email migrations when needed
